What is llms.txt?
A plain Markdown file at /llms.txt that summarises your site for large language models: a one-line description, key facts and links to your most important pages, grouped into sections. It was proposed in 2024 as a lightweight companion to robots.txt and sitemap.xml.
Does it help AI visibility?
Some AI tools and agents read it; Google has said it does not use llms.txt for Search. It is cheap to add and harmless, but the bigger wins are usually crawler access, server-rendered content and structured data. The free GEO check tests all of those.
How to install it
Review the draft, fix anything that is wrong, save it as llms.txt and upload it to the root of your site so it opens at https://yourdomain/llms.txt. On WordPress, upload it to the web root over FTP or with a file manager plugin.
